Award-Winning ER Campaign
Freestanding ERs are a vital lifeline to isolated communities. In cities that already have a hospital, however, they create uncertainty over where to go in an emergency. I wrote this commercial and all other ads in the the “Take me to Wentworth-Douglass” campaign (which won Best of Category at the 2019 Summit Awards) to remind the NH Seacoast community where to go for the best emergency care.
Local banks usually differentiate themselves from national competitors by highlighting their commitment to the community. The result? A lot of overly familiar brand campaigns. But Kennebunk Savings is different. Their commitment runs deeper than most, and it’s tangible — donating 10% of earnings locally, and more. So I wrote this campaign with the goal of making Kennebunk’s impact on the community clearer and more tangible than any other bank in their market.
Every week I post creative writing advice on TikTok to a following of 240K, but I also partnered with Campfire Writing over the course of eight months to promote their writing software. The above is a sample of the videos I made, where I balanced education with promotional content to meet Campfire’s goals.
For over 100 years, Eureka! Camping has made reliable, affordable tents and camping gear for families and adventurers alike. In recent years, however, Eureka! has struggled to connect with the next generation of campers. That’s why I revamped their brand with a new a multi-tiered narrative that would resonate better with their modern audience.
I’ve walked multiple companies through rebrands. A recent favorite was for Two Ten Footwear Foundation, a nonprofit that provides financial support to workers in the footwear industry. Working alongside our team’s designer, I helped refresh their brand identity with a new mission statement, tagline, brand voice, and messaging hierarchy.
Meeting the Audience’s Needs: EDvestinU was struggling to convince recent graduates to refinance their student loans with them. The reason, I realized, was that their audience didn’t know enough about refinancing to commit — so I pitched then wrote a two-pronged campaign: one that educated first (with the video above), then retargeted with ads to convert.
Jack of All Media: One of my greatest strengths as a copywriter is my versatility. I frequently write for multichannel campaigns that cross a wide variety of digital and traditional media.
